Variant (Introduced: GSC)r

Variant forms are alternative forms which are considered natural alternative states for a Pokémon to be in. Their Base Stat Totals are usually the same. These can be swapped in the overworld via the Formulater item once it is unlocked, or induced on a per-species basis in battle if a form has such as access mechanism.

Regional (Introduced: SM)

Regional forms are a subset of Variant forms, different only in fluff terms in that they are specifically said to be the result of divergent evolution. This is listed to point out that Regional forms are for the most part not present in this game for both mechanical and game-specific lore purposes.

δ (Introduced: EX Delta Species)

δ forms are a subset of Variant forms. They are near-identical in fuction, sometimes varying in Ability, but for the most part only changing the Typing of the Pokémon. These can be swapped with the Formulater.

Mega (Introduced: XY)

Mega forms can be used once per battle by a Pokémon holding the Mega Stone item. Mega forms are given to most, though not all, Pokémon that either evolve via an applied item or that cannot evolve. Mega forms may change Typing, Ability, and always add 100 total base stats. Mega forms are lost upon battle ending, and cannot be accessed via the Formulater in the overworld.

Gigant (Introduced: SwSh)

Gigant forms are functionally identical to Mega forms, but using the Wishing Star item rather than the Mega Stone. Canonically, this is due to the game not taking place in Galar and lacking its background Dynamax energy to support proper Dynamaxing - only mons with G-Max Factor can do it at all.

Turbo (Introduced: XY)

'Turbo' forms are activated upon certain conditions being met in-battle, usually the user making another Pokémon KO via an attack. These usually add 110 total base stats and may or may not temporarily change Ability. There is no limit to Turbo form usage.

Primal (Introduced: ORAS)

Primal forms are activated upon being sent out with a specific held item. Primal forms usually add 100 total base stats to the user. As many Pokémon may use a Primal form per battle as can.

PULSE (Introduced: Reborn)

PULSE forms are functionally identical to Mega forms, but using the Dubious Disc item rather than the Mega Stone. The base stats added may differ wildly from the 100 standard of Mega forms, as well.

Rift (Introduced: Rejuvenation)

Rift forms come in two varieties; variety one is functionally a Variant form, whilst variety two is functionally identical to Pulse using the Oblivion Shard item instead of a Mega Stone or Dubious Disc.

Infested (Introduced: Snakewood) Infested forms are a subset of Variant forms, which can be toggled by using the Suspicious Growth item outside of battle. Infested forms often apply the Shadow-type to the subject Pokémon, and may change its Ability.

BREAK (Introduced: BREAKthrough) BREAK forms are induced outside of battle via the usage of a Cell Battery item. BREAK forms universally have the unique BREAK Factor ability, apply the Electric-type to the subject Pokémon, and reallocate stats from the user's defensive stats to their offensive and speed stats.
